Job Summary
St. Ambrose Charity Hospital is seeking to recruit a qualified and experienced Medical Clinical Officer to provide quality clinical care to patients. The successful candidate will be responsible for examining patients, diagnosing illnesses, prescribing treatment, and supporting healthcare delivery in accordance with professional standards and hospital policies.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Examine, diagnose and treat patients presenting with various medical conditions.
- Prescribe medications and monitor patient progress.
- Conduct patient consultations and follow-up reviews.
- Refer complicated cases to senior medical personnel when necessary.
- Participate in emergency and outpatient care services.
- Maintain accurate patient records and medical documentation.
- Provide health education and counseling to patients and their families.
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control guidelines.
- Participate in hospital quality improvement initiatives.
- Support community outreach and health promotion activities when required.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Community Health from a recognized institution.
- Must be registered with the Allied Health Professionals Council.
- Minimum of two (2) years of relevant clinical experience.
- Strong diagnostic and patient management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and within multidisciplinary teams.
- Good record-keeping and reporting skills.
- High level of integrity, professionalism and commitment to patient care.
