Job Objective

The Relationship Manager – Agency Banking will provide business and operational leadership within the Agent Banking Unit. The successful candidate will manage the development and operation of the bank’s agent network to ensure excellent customer service and business growth.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee the execution of a robust agent onboarding process, including agent selection, business pitches, document validation, branding, training, and provision of business devices.
  • Review and update the existing agent network strategy and network development KPIs to support business growth.
  • Manage the development of the agent network against established KPIs and prepare regular progress reports.
  • Lead the selection and recruitment of new agents into the network.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure stable and effective service delivery across the agent banking channel.
  • Manage agent training programs and ensure training content remains relevant and up to date.
  • Review and update agent performance KPIs and oversee the evaluation process.
  • Ensure compliance with operational guidelines and address any fraud incidents within the network.
  • Implement customer recruitment, retention, and service improvement initiatives across the network.
  • Ensure agents maintain sufficient liquidity to meet customer needs through effective forecasting and distribution processes.
  • Manage third-party service providers supporting the development and operation of the network.
  • Maintain strong relationships with agents and ensure effective communication between the bank and agents.
  • Promote agent visibility and strengthen the UBA brand within the market.
  • Ensure customers and staff are aware of agent locations within their areas.
  • Drive agent network expansion while fostering strong partnerships with stakeholders.
  • Prepare and consolidate agency banking reports for submission to regulatory authorities within agreed timelines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field from a recognized university.
  • A Master of Business Administration (MBA) or relevant professional qualification is an added advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum of 4–10 years of experience in Agent Banking.
