Uganda Tea Corporation Ltd (UTCL) is located along the Kampala–Jinja Highway near Lugazi Municipal Council in Buikwe District, approximately 48 kilometers from Kampala City and 40 kilometers from Jinja, opposite Mt. St. Mary’s College Namagunga.

UTCL is one of Uganda’s leading tea producers, generating over 3.5 million kilograms of tea annually, accounting for approximately 10% of Uganda’s national tea output. The company serves both international markets (80%) and local markets (20%), with exports routed through the Mombasa Auction. Additional activities include afforestation, coffee, cocoa, and banana farming.

Job Summary

Uganda Tea Corporation Ltd (UTCL) is seeking a strategic, results-driven, and highly experienced Factory Manager to oversee the complete operational, administrative, and financial performance of its tea processing facility.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maximizing production efficiency, controlling manufacturing costs, and ensuring that all processed tea meets premium global quality standards.

In this leadership role, the Factory Manager will oversee department heads in production, engineering, finance, and logistics while promoting a safe, compliant, and highly productive work environment. Strong leadership, strategic planning, and budget management skills are essential to optimize factory profitability and maintain stakeholder trust.

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Food Science, Agricultural Engineering, Business Administration, or a related industrial management field.
• Minimum of 2 to 5 years of progressive management experience specifically within a commercial tea manufacturing factory.
