Job Description

As a Study Coordinator, you will provide broad operational support for the HIP-CY study, ensuring high-quality, efficient, and productive day-to-day study activities. This study aims to improve youth prevention and care continuums in both rural and urban Uganda using implementation science to design innovative interventions.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Prepare and Monitor Study Plan
    • Develop and update the study work plan.
    • Provide regular and precise updates to investigators.
    • Track study timelines from initiation to closeout.
  2. Development of Study Materials and Tools
    • Develop study source forms and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
    • Coordinate staff training on study materials.
    • Orient and train new study staff.
  3. Coordinate ICF Process and Consent Participants
    • Develop Informed Consent Forms (ICFs) and related documents.
    • Track the ICF development and ensure quality control (QC) processes.
    • Assist with submission of completed ICFs to regulatory teams.
  4. Assist with Submission of Study Documents
    • Support submission of protocols, investigator brochures, and related documents to appropriate regulatory bodies.
    • Track and QC study documents before submission.
  5. Review Study Documents and Case Report Forms
    • Ensure accuracy and appropriateness of study tests, examinations, and procedures.
    • Follow up on issues raised during QC reviews and share reports with staff.
  6. Prepare and Respond to Audits and Inspections
    • Plan and prepare for audits and monitoring visits.
    • Ensure timely responses to audit findings and correct issues raised.
  7. Maintain Communication with Stakeholders
    • Provide timely updates to investigators and study staff.
    • Respond to emails and attend required meetings to share study progress.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Science in Nursing or a related health degree.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience in research conduct.
  • Skills: Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks effectively.

Work Hours

  • 8-hour shifts.
