Job Summary:
UGAFODE is seeking a skilled Networks Administrator to oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization’s network infrastructure. The role involves ensuring secure, reliable connectivity, monitoring communication protocols, and supporting network hardware to enhance operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, configure, and maintain a stable and secure WAN/LAN network infrastructure.
- Conduct network technology needs analysis and recommend improvements.
- Ensure stable and secure internet connectivity for all UGAFODE’s internet-based systems.
- Set up, maintain, and test Disaster Recovery (DR) network connectivity.
- Perform regular network assessments to identify and mitigate potential threats.
- Ensure up-to-date backups for all network device configurations.
- Implement and enforce ICT policies, procedures, and security guidelines.
- Conduct daily ICT checks and tasks to maintain system performance.
- Collaborate with third-party vendors and suppliers to ensure optimal network performance.
- Maintain an inventory of IT network-related equipment.
- Undertake additional assignments related to information systems and technology as assigned.
Required Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a financial institution.
- Professional Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP are an added advantage.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in developing and documenting network architecture, strategic plans, and policies.
- Deep understanding of WAN, LAN/WLAN implementation best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills for network security and performance assessments.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco and other networking hardware vendors.
- Ability to manage advanced routing and switching protocols with automation and failover strategies.
