Key Responsibilities
โ Enforce law and order across Uganda.
โ Protect life and property.
โ Preserve peace and public order.
โ Prevent and investigate crime.
โ Carry out additional tasks as assigned by the Inspector General of Police.
Minimum Requirements
โ
Nationality: Must be a Ugandan citizen with a valid National ID or a Confirmation of Information letter from NIRA.
โ
Criminal Record: Must have a clean record (no criminal convictions).
โ
Training: Must be willing and ready to undergo Police Basic Training.
โ
Physical & Medical Fitness: Must be in good physical and medical health.
โ
Work Conditions: Must be willing to work long hours, sometimes under difficult conditions, and in any part of the country.
โ
Communication Skills: Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
โ
Service History: Must NOT be a serving or former officer in any other forces.
Educational Requirements
๐ UCE Certificate or Equivalent obtained in a single sitting, not earlier than 2020, with:
โ Traditional Grading System: At least 4 credits, including English or Mathematics, and a pass in the other subject.
โ Competency-Based System: At least 4 โCโ grades, including English or Mathematics, and a โDโ grade in the other subject.
๐ซ Applicants with higher academic qualifications should NOT apply.

- Submit a handwritten application addressed to the Inspector General of Police.
- Attach the following documents:
โ Photocopies of academic certificates.
โ Photocopy of your National ID.
โ Three (3) recent passport-sized photos.
โ School ID or introductory letter from the last attended school.
โ Recommendation letters from LCI, LCIII, and RDC (from your district of residence).
๐ Where to Submit:
- Deliver the complete application to the nearest Police District or Divisional Headquarters by March 21, 2025.
