Hima Cement, a leading provider of cement and concrete-based solutions in East Africa, is seeking a highly motivated Junior Commercial Analyst (JCA) to support the finance and commercial teams. In this role, you will ensure timely receipting of customer payments, implement price adjustments, and conduct pricing analysis to enhance profitability. This position requires flexibility to work beyond standard hours to ensure smooth business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Price List Implementation: Monitor and implement system price lists as set by the pricing committee.
- Pricing Analytics: Conduct pricing analysis to evaluate the impact on profitability and financial performance.
- Financial Model Updates: Regularly update financial models with agreed prices, including MTP and Budget.
- Variance Analysis: Perform variance analysis to compare actual versus budgeted financial data.
- Audit Support: Ensure internal and external audit requirements are met.
- Financial Forecasting: Provide accurate and timely financial forecasts to support business decision-making.
- Rebate Accruals: Calculate and ensure rebate accruals align with the company’s rebate policy.
- Payment Receipting: Assist the treasury team with customer payment receipting outside regular working hours.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the Country Controller.
Required Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes
- Technical Competencies:
- Strong time management skills to meet deadlines effectively.
- Excellent stakeholder management and teamwork abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and demanding work environment.
- Strong communication and analytical skills.
- Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (BSc preferred).
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., Level 2 ACCA, CPA) is an advantage.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting regulations and standards.
