‎1. Qualified Enrolled Nurse – Job Description
‎Location: Station Centre, Kamwenge
‎Language Requirement: Must be able to speak Runyankore and Rukiga
‎Employment Type: Full-Time
‎Reporting To: Medical Officer in Charge
‎
‎Job Summary:
‎The Enrolled Nurse will be responsible for providing basic nursing care, supporting medical teams in patient care, and ensuring effective implementation of treatment plans within a clinical setting.
‎
‎Key Responsibilities:
‎
‎Provide basic nursing care to patients including administering prescribed medications, injections, and dressing wounds.
‎
‎Monitor and record vital signs and report abnormal findings to the supervising nurse or doctor.
‎
‎Maintain accurate patient records and ensure documentation is updated regularly.
‎
‎Assist in patient hygiene, feeding, and mobility as needed.
‎
‎Provide health education to patients and their families.
‎
‎Support in emergency response and first aid services.
‎
‎Maintain cleanliness and infection control within the nursing station.
‎
‎Participate in regular departmental meetings and training sessions.
‎
‎Work collaboratively with midwives, doctors, and other staff to ensure holistic care.
‎
‎Minimum Requirements:
‎
‎Certificate in Enrolled Nursing from a recognized institution.
‎
‎Valid practicing license from the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council.
‎
‎At least one (1) year of experience working in a recognized health facility.
‎
‎Fluent in Runyankore and Rukiga.
‎
‎Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
‎
‎High degree of professionalism, ethics, and confidentiality.

‎2. Qualified Enrolled Midwife – Job Description
‎Location: Station Centre, Kamwenge
‎Language Requirement: Must be able to speak Runyankore and Rukiga
‎Employment Type: Full-Time
‎Reporting To: Senior Midwife / Medical Officer
‎
‎Job Summary:
‎The Enrolled Midwife will provide maternal and newborn care, support women during labor and delivery, and ensure proper prenatal and postnatal care in line with Ministry of Health guidelines.
‎
‎Key Responsibilities:
‎
‎Provide prenatal, delivery, and postnatal care to mothers and babies.
‎
‎Monitor mothers during labor and assist with safe deliveries.
‎
‎Counsel expectant and new mothers on maternal and newborn health.
‎
‎Administer medications and monitor their effects on patients.
‎
‎Maintain maternity ward hygiene and ensure infection prevention practices.
‎
‎Keep accurate records of patient information, including labor progress and newborn data.
‎
‎Identify and refer any complications to higher medical authorities.
‎
‎Provide family planning education and services.
‎
‎Support outreach activities related to maternal and child health.
‎
‎Minimum Requirements:
‎
‎Certificate in Enrolled Midwifery from a recognized institution.
‎
‎Valid practicing license from the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council.
‎
‎Minimum of one (1) year working experience in a clinical/maternity setting.
‎
‎Must speak Runyankore and Rukiga fluently.
‎
‎Empathetic, patient-centered, and able to work under pressure.
