INTERNATIONAL CONTRACTING COMPANY – Uganda Branch

We are a reputable international engineering and construction company seeking to recruit highly skilled and experienced Civil Site Engineer and Electrical Engineer to join our vibrant and growing team in Uganda.

Key Qualifications & Attributes (Applicable to Both Positions)

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (for Civil Site Engineer) or Electrical Engineering (for Electrical Engineer) from a recognized university or institution.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with a reputable company on infrastructure or power-related projects.
• Experience working on projects with UETCL, UEGCL, or UMEME (for Electrical Engineer) is a significant advantage.
• Strong background in structural works, foundations, and civil infrastructure (for Civil Site Engineer) or in power transmission, substations, transformers, and switchgear installation (for Electrical Engineer).
• Demonstrated ability to interpret technical drawings, BOQs, and engineering designs.
• Proficiency in construction site management, contract implementation, and quality control.
• Sound knowledge of engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MS Project) and project reporting tools.
• Ability to manage subcontractors, site teams, and construction schedules efficiently.
• Strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Willingness to be stationed upcountry at remote project sites for extended periods.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

Civil Site Engineer:

• Supervise and manage day-to-day civil works at the site to ensure quality and timely completion.
• Ensure compliance with design specifications, codes, and project requirements.
• Coordinate closely with project managers, consultants, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
• Prepare and maintain site records, daily progress reports, and documentation.
• Implement and enforce health, safety, and quality control protocols on site.

Electrical Engineer:

• Participate in the design review, planning, and execution of power transmission and substation construction works.
• Supervise and coordinate the installation of transmission lines, transformers, switchgear, and other substation equipment.
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety protocols, and project specifications.
• Prepare technical reports, progress updates, and assist in project documentation.
• Work closely with the project manager, contractors, and quality control teams to ensure timely project delivery.
