Job Description

Lish Micro Credit Uganda Limited is seeking a Business Development Manager to lead and manage marketing and sales plans with the goal of increasing business levels and profitability. You will drive the corporate sales agenda, acquire and develop new clients, and oversee all marketing activities.

Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Plan, direct, and manage marketing and sales strategies to increase business and profits while adhering to risk management guidelines.
  • Develop strategic marketing recommendations for new product development, enhancements, positioning, pricing, profitability, distribution channels, and advertising programs.
  • Prepare and implement annual marketing plans to meet business goals.
  • Work closely with the Heads of Departments, branch managers, relationship managers, and sales teams to implement business development strategies.
  • Conduct feasibility studies for branch expansion or relocation.
  • Review Lish Micro Credit’s current products and services, assess customer satisfaction, and recommend improvements.
  • Supervise, train, and coach staff in the department. Set performance targets and review performance regularly.
  • Evaluate and manage risks related to departmental activities and contribute to building compliance.
  • Actively participate in sales calls and provide guidance to the sales team.
  • Conduct in-depth market and competition analysis.
  • Develop advertising, direct marketing, and other programs as required.

Marketing & Corporate Sales

  • Oversee all marketing, advertising, and promotional events and activities.
  • Develop an annual marketing plan in collaboration with the business development department.
  • Ensure marketing activities are delivered within the agreed budget and provide cost-benefit analysis for each event.
  • Coordinate market research to develop new products based on customer needs.
  • Evaluate existing and potential products and advise management on new market trends.
  • Develop and implement branch-wide plans to push products across departments.
  • Contribute to strategic plans and reviews with marketing and sales information and recommendations.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Increase in business levels (deposits, lending portfolio, income) and profitability.
  • Growth in the customer base.
  • Successful introduction and launch of new products and services.
  • Growth in brand visibility.
  • Knowledge of microfinance products.
  • Strong leadership and sales management skills.
  • Effective use of solution-selling techniques.

Qualifications

  • A University Degree/Diploma in Business Studies.
  • Computer literacy is essential.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in sales, marketing, or product management, preferably within a financial institution.
  • Experience in microfinance or financial institutions is preferred.

Work Hours
