Technical Sales Engineer

Location: Kampala, Uganda

Employment Type: Full-Time

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically competent Technical Sales Engineer to join our EBT division.

Job Purpose

The Technical Sales Engineer will be responsible for identifying business opportunities, developing client relationships, preparing technical and commercial proposals, conducting solution presentations, coordinating project implementation, and driving revenue growth within the EBT division.

The role requires a blend of technical expertise, business development skills, customer relationship management, and project coordination capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Sales

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with corporate, government, NGO, and education sector clients.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.
  • Conduct client visits, presentations, and product demonstrations.
  • Follow up quotations and proposals to closure.

Technical Solution Design

  • Design and recommend suitable Audio Visual and Collaboration solutions.
  • Interpret client requirements and develop technical solutions.
  • Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs), technical specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Develop solution architectures and system layouts.

Proposal & Tender Management

  • Prepare technical and financial proposals.
  • Respond to RFQs, RFPs, and tenders.
  • Coordinate internal approvals and submission processes.
  • Maintain proposal documentation and records.

Project Coordination

  • Coordinate delivery, installation, commissioning, and client acceptance.
  • Work with suppliers, installers, and technical teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Monitor project progress and resolve implementation challenges.

Customer Support

  • Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support.
  • Conduct user training where required.
  • Manage customer escalations and support requests.
  • Maintain long-term client relationships.

Reporting & Administration

  • Maintain accurate opportunity pipeline records.
  • Prepare sales forecasts and reports.
  • Update CRM and sales documentation.
  • Track quotations, contracts, and project status.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in technical sales, pre-sales engineering, ICT solutions, or AV solutions.
  • Experience preparing BOQs, quotations, and technical proposals.
  • Strong understanding of Audio Visual and Enterprise Technology solutions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Technical proposal writing.
  • Tender management experience.
  • Project coordination skills.
  • Client relationship management.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Pipeline growth and management.
