About the Role
We are excited to announce the creation of a new position: Regional MHPSS Clinical Supervisor, based in Uganda. The Regional MHPSS Clinical Supervisor role reports to the Global MHPSS Program Director. This role will be instrumental in developing, maintaining, and enhancing the quality of clinical work across our Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) programs in Kenya and Uganda. As part of our mission, you’ll collaborate with in-country teams to deliver exceptional care, provide clinical supervision, and contribute to program development in one of the most impactful areas of global health.
Initially supporting programs in Kenya and Uganda, the role is expected to expand to additional African countries as HealthRight’s MHPSS portfolio grows.

Your Key Responsibilities:
1. Clinical Leadership
- Provide clinical supervision, training, and support to MHPSS staff in Kenya and Uganda.
- Develop and monitor clinical quality standards for MHPSS programs, ensuring ethical and high-quality care.
- Partner with teams to enhance treatment planning, documentation, and case management practices.
2. Program Development
- Support the design and growth of MHPSS initiatives, including our peer-to-peer Caring for Carers (C4C) program.
- Collaborate on proposals and research to expand the reach and impact of our MHPSS services.
- Represent HealthRight in MHPSS technical meetings and events.
3. Grants and Compliance
- Assist with grant management, reporting, and compliance to ensure the successful delivery of funded programs.
4. Advocacy and Visibility
- Advocate for client rights, confidentiality, and access to mental health services.
- Represent HealthRight at national and international events to promote our vision and achievements.
- Develop communication materials highlighting program impact.
- Foster strategic relationships with partner organizations, donors, and stakeholders to strengthen program visibility and credibility. Focus on influencing, collaborating, and relationship-building that can open pathways to grant opportunities and donor engagement.
What We’re Looking For:
- Education: Master’s in Clinical Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, Psychiatric Nursing, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 2 years of clinical experience working with conflict-affected and traumatized populations.
- Skills: Clinical supervision, program development, leadership, and cultural competency.
- Attributes: Client-centered approach, adaptability, and a passion for innovation in mental health care.
- Tech Proficiency: Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, AI, and other relevant tools.

Working Conditions:
This role is primarily office-based in Uganda, with occasional travel to project sites. Flexibility for some evening or weekend hours may be required.
