Latitude Craft Chocolate (LTC) is a rapidly growing social enterprise in Uganda, sourcing specialty cacao for export and producing bean-to-bar chocolate at origin. Working with over 5,000 certified organic smallholder farmers, our mission is to increase farmer incomes sustainably while fostering positive community and environmental impact.
We are looking for a Human Resources Officer to manage recruitment, employee welfare, payroll, and HR compliance. This position is based at our Kampala office and reports directly to the Managing Director.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruitment & Hiring: Manage end-to-end recruitment, including liaising with hiring firms to attract top talent.
- Payroll Management: Prepare payroll data and ensure timely submission to payroll services.
- Employee Records Management: Maintain accurate physical and electronic employee records.
- Attendance & Leave Tracking: Monitor and report staff attendance and leave across all company offices.
- Asset Management: Track company-provided assets such as uniforms, laptops, and mobile phones.
- Employee Benefits Administration: Manage staff benefits, including communication allowances and medical cover.
- Workplace Welfare: Oversee relationships with company-nominated hospitals and hotels, including authorizing treatment and handling reservations.
- Employee Relations: Address and resolve employee grievances fairly and in a timely manner.
- HR Process Improvement: Propose innovative HR strategies to enhance company operations and employee well-being.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Previous experience in HR, office management, administration, or secretarial roles is a plus.
- Skills & Attributes:
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Proactive, problem-solving mindset with a positive attitude.
- Familiarity with Ugandan labor laws and HR best practices.
- Willingness to learn on the job and adapt to a dynamic environment.
