Job Overview
FAO Uganda is seeking a Programme Support Specialist to contribute to the effective implementation, monitoring, and communication of resilience, food security, and livelihood projects. The role involves supporting ongoing initiatives, engaging with stakeholders, and developing new programmes based on evidence-driven insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning, implementation, and monitoring of resilience, food security, and livelihood projects.
- Provide technical and administrative assistance, identify challenges, and propose solutions.
- Draft and edit programme documents, including proposals, concept notes, reports, and presentations.
- Coordinate cross-sectoral collaborations within FAO Uganda.
- Act as a liaison for UNHCR-FAO partnerships on refugee response initiatives.
- Represent FAO in coordination meetings and stakeholder engagements.
- Conduct field missions as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Agriculture, Livestock, Economics, Development Studies, Communications, or a related field.
- At least one year of professional experience in emergency or development programmes.
- Strong command of English (Level C) both written and spoken.
Preferred Skills & Competencies:
- Proven experience in programme development and fundraising.
- Understanding of the humanitarian-development nexus and resilience programming.
- Knowledge of food security and disaster risk management.
- Strong coordination and communication skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Work experience in multiple locations or field positions is an asset.
