About Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC)

It is a government-owned entity responsible for managing Uganda’s commercial interests in the oil and gas industry, ensuring the sustainable exploitation of these resources.
Job Summary
We are seeking National Content Officers to support day-to-day coordination and execution of national content activities in line with the national content strategy. This is a crucial role in supporting Uganda’s oil and gas industry development through procurement processes, skilling initiatives, and monitoring of compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Review procurement processes by assessing national content elements in tenders and contracts to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company strategies.
- Support skilling initiatives for Ugandans through training and capacity-building programs aligned with national content needs.
- Review and validate national content proposals during procurements (e.g., pre-qualification, tendering).
- Monitor compliance of national content by UNOC contractors and suppliers, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Coordinate supplier engagements and external activities focused on national content promotion.
- Ensure effective implementation and reporting of national content activities across internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist with audits, method improvements, and other national content tasks assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree (Hons) in Business Administration, Human Resource Management, Public Administration, Engineering, Physical Sciences, Procurement, or a related field.
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience in the oil and gas sector, manufacturing, construction, or a service industry.
- Strong knowledge of procurement and contracting, with a preference for experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Understanding of Uganda’s oil and gas sector, national content laws, regulations, and policies.
- Experience in skilling and training for the oil and gas sector.
