Job Summary
Posta Uganda is seeking an experienced Manager Finance to oversee financial management activities and ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations. The role involves monitoring cash flows, preparing budgets, and ensuring timely financial reporting.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor cash flows and the liquidity position of Posta Uganda (UPL) to meet financial obligations.
- Prepare Annual Work Plans and Budgets for the Department and guide the implementation of activities.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies and government regulations while contributing to sustainability initiatives.
- Approve payment requests and ensure adequate documentation is provided.
- Review and analyze general ledger accounts and reconciliations for accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare and submit periodic financial reports and schedules as per UPL and statutory requirements.
- Monitor fund availability across all bank accounts and track annual cash flows.
- Support internal and external auditors by ensuring that audit recommendations are implemented.
Key Performance Indicators
- Timely and accurate financial reports.
- Compliance with payment processes and procurement procedures.
- Increase in compliance ratings and integrity of accounting systems.
- Consolidation and upload of budgets within stipulated timelines.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Business Administration (Accounting), or related field.
- Professional Certification in Accounting (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CPA).
- At least 6 years of experience in finance or accounting, with a minimum of 4 years at a supervisory or accountant level.
- Finance management skills and knowledge of risk management.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and people management skills.
