Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior AML Supervisor to join our Compliance team at the Head Office. The successful candidate will be instrumental in strengthening our Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF) frameworks, ensuring full regulatory compliance, and building a culture of integrity throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Compliance & Testing
-
Conduct routine and ad hoc compliance audits across departments.

Evaluate internal processes against the Anti-Money Laundering Act and recommend improvements.

Monitor non-compliance issues and escalate unresolved concerns.

AML/CTF Program Development
-
Develop and update AML/CTF policies, procedures, and frameworks in line with local and international standards.

Implement and monitor the annual AML plan, ensuring effective execution and continuous improvement.

Risk-Based Customer Due Diligence
-
Establish and enhance Know Your Customer (KYC), Customer Due Diligence (CDD), and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) procedures.

Review and approve customer risk profiles, particularly for high-risk customers and transactions.

Transaction Monitoring & Reporting

Monitor suspicious activities, large cash transactions, and maintain up-to-date logs.

Prepare and submit Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) and other regulatory filings to the Financial Intelligence Authority (FIA).

Data Analysis & Investigations
-
Analyze large datasets to identify unusual transaction patterns or trends indicative of potential money laundering.

Lead investigations into flagged activities and prepare detailed reports for management and regulators.

Training & Awareness
-
Develop AML training content and coordinate staff awareness programs across departments.

Provide guidance and support to the operational team in their role as first-line monitors.

Stakeholder Engagement
-
Liaise with internal departments, external auditors, regulators, and correspondent banks on AML-related issues.

Ensure effective communication and coordination between compliance, risk, and internal audit functions.

Qualifications & Experience
-
A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Commerce, Business Administration, Statistics, or a related field.

Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in AML Compliance, Financial Crime Risk, or related roles in a financial institution.

Demonstrated expertise in AML laws, KYC procedures, transaction monitoring, and regulatory reporting.
Desirable Certifications (Added Advantage)

Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS)

Certified Financial Crime Specialist (CFCS)

Financial Crime Risk Management Professional (FCRMP)

Additional Requirements
