Job Summary:
Our client, a leading plastics manufacturing company in Uganda, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Production Supervisor to oversee daily manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will ensure efficient production processes, maintain quality standards, and lead a team of production workers to meet production targets while adhering to safety and company policies.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily production activities to meet production schedules and targets.
- Monitor machine operations and ensure optimal efficiency with minimal downtime.
- Ensure production output meets quality standards and customer specifications.
- Implement production plans and adjust workflows as needed to meet deadlines.
- Lead, train, and motivate production staff to achieve high performance.
- Assign tasks, monitor employee performance, and provide feedback.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Resolve production-related issues and conflicts among team members.
- Conduct regular quality checks on products to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Identify and troubleshoot defects or inefficiencies in the production process.
- Maintain accurate production records and reports for management review.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Oversee the proper use and maintenance of production machinery.
- Coordinate with the maintenance team to schedule repairs and preventive maintenance.
- Report equipment malfunctions and ensure timely resolution.
- Monitor raw material usage and minimize waste to optimize production costs.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of materials and finished products.
- Assist in inventory management and stock replenishment as needed.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a supervisory role within a plastics manufacturing or related industry.
- Strong knowledge of injection molding, extrusion, blow molding, or other plastics manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with quality control standards is an advantage.
- Proficiency in production planning, lean manufacturing, and safety protocols.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
