JOB OPPORTUNITY: Field Operations Supervisor

Duties and Responsibilities:

• To plan and execute network operation and maintenance activities, in line with business requirements and procedures defined in our Operating Guidelines, in order to achieve Infrastructure network availability and performance targets (SLA’s) as agreed to with our Uganda’s clients.

• To provide efficient, effective management of all the passive infrastructure maintenance performed by the O&M contractor on our Uganda owned and managed sites.

• To ensure Operations and Maintenance teams run smoothly and effectively using the available tools and resources.

• To drive improvement in quality of service and ensure the network performs optimally in terms of design, operation and service delivery.

• To work closely with the O&M manager in drive down of network OpEx and infrastructure improvement.

• Lease Negotiation & Management: Securing agreements for existing sites, ensuring favorable terms, and handling renewals and other issues raised by landlords including change of ownership, bank details etc

• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborating with landlords, government bodies, and industry associations to maintain positive relationships.

• Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring our sites adhere to zoning laws, environmental regulations, and industry standards. Engaging with local communities through sensitization meetings when dealing with challenging sites where neighbors oppose telecom masts and address all concerns raised

• Dispute Resolution: Addressing conflicts with landlords to prevent site lockouts and ensure business continuity.

• Financial Oversight: Managing rental payments, negotiating cost reductions, and tracking lease expiry profiles.

• Site Acquisition: Assisting in securing new locations for telecom infrastructure

• Regional SPOC for Site Build, colos and Colo upgrades

Qualifications and Experience

• BSC degree / HND Electrical /Mechanical Engineering

• Minimum 5 years Operational Management experience, management of O&M contractors

• Telecoms passive infrastructure, Telemetry systems, Performance Management, Project Management systems, MS Projects, MS Office suite.
