Title: Network & Systems Administrator
Status: Full-time, Exempt
Reports To: Vice President – Information Systems & Technology
Location: Kampala, Uganda

Position Overview
As a Network & Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and operation of Service One’s network, servers, desktop, and storage infrastructure. Your expertise will ensure that all network systems, including hardware and software, are functioning optimally to support system users and enhance the efficiency of the Credit Union’s technology operations.

Key Responsibilities
• Network & System Maintenance:
o Install, configure, test, and maintain servers, SAN, and networking equipment.
o Monitor scheduled jobs and computer output for accuracy, completeness, and error resolution.
o Perform critical data backups and ensure data security according to established procedures.
o Regularly update firmware and security patches for servers, printers, and network equipment.
• Security & Protection:
o Configure and manage Microsoft Active Directory.
o Install and maintain security systems such as IPS/IDS, Firewalls, Anti-Virus, Anti-Spam, and Anti-Malware for robust internal network protection.
o Maintain Unified Communications, VoIP services, and related platforms and equipment.
• Troubleshooting & Support:
o Troubleshoot and resolve issues with ATM systems, Internet Banking, and mobile services.
o Maintain data redundancy systems and assist in remediation efforts after risk assessments and test findings.
o Log all hardware/software problems, liaise with maintenance organizations, and ensure timely repair.
o Provide ongoing support for operational staff and other associates as required.
• Automation & Software Management:
o Create automation scripts for recurring tasks to enhance efficiency.
o Assist with software upgrades and installations across systems.
o Support any other technical requirements that contribute to the effective management and operation of the Credit Union.

Qualifications & Experience
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems or related IT specialization.
Experience: At least 3 years of experience in a similar role. Professional certifications may substitute for educational requirements.
• Technical Skills:
o Advanced proficiency in local and wide-area networks.
o Expertise with Microsoft Server and Client operating systems.
o Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to manage multiple tasks independently while meeting deadlines.
o Knowledge of automation tools and scripting is an advantage.
o Proficiency in handling sensitive data with a high degree of professionalism.

Physical Requirements
The physical demands of this position include regular sitting, standing, walking, reaching, and using hands to operate equipment. The role may require lifting and moving 20-35 pounds regularly, and occasionally lifting 35-80 pounds. Occasional climbing, bending, and squatting may also be required.
