Position Details
Job Title: IT Manager
Location: Head Office, Forest Mall Lugogo, Kampala, Uganda
Reports To: Executive Director

Role Overview
The IT Manager will lead the formulation of the Bank’s ICT strategy, aligning it with overall business objectives and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The role involves overseeing IT operations, driving innovation, managing IT budgets, and ensuring effective vendor relationships.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic ICT Management
• Develop and maintain the Bank’s ICT strategy aligned with stakeholder needs and industry best practices.
• Ensure IT policies adhere to regulatory standards and international benchmarks.
• Align IT performance and risks with the Bank’s overall business strategy.
IT Operations Management
• Oversee integration, maintenance, and enhancement of IT systems.
• Manage day-to-day IT operations, including end-user impact, quality assurance, and change management.
Project Management
• Manage IT projects, ensuring milestones, budgets, and deadlines are achieved.
• Supervise system dependencies during planning, implementation, and support phases.
Vendor & Relationship Management
• Maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers, negotiating contracts that align with strategic and financial objectives.
People Management
• Recruit, develop, and mentor IT staff.
• Define performance contracts and monitor staff performance.
Budgeting
• Manage the annual IT budget and prioritize IT tools and hardware replacements.

Required Qualifications and Experience
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information, Technology. A postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
• Certifications: PMP, COBIT, ITIL, CISSP, or CISM certifications are highly desirable.
• Experience:
o 10+ years of progressive IT experience.
o 5+ years in IT management, preferably within a financial institution.
o Proven expertise in managing core banking applications.

• Comprehensive knowledge of IT governance and risk management.
• Advanced problem-solving and strategic thinking capabilities.
