Job Title: Food & Beverage Host/Hostess
Job Location: Kampala, Uganda

Objective:
As the first point of contact in our restaurant, the F&B Host/Hostess plays a key role in creating a warm, welcoming environment for all guests. With a smile and a professional attitude, you will ensure exceptional service by seamlessly managing guest bookings, assisting with reception duties, and exceeding customer expectations at every opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:
• Greet and seat guests with a warm and friendly demeanor, ensuring they feel valued and welcomed.
• Handle all reservations efficiently via phone, email, and in person, turning inquiries into bookings while maintaining accurate records in the system.
• Update and manage booking systems regularly, ensuring guest preferences and special requests are noted and communicated to the relevant team members.
• Collaborate with restaurant management to promote special offers and ensure they are advertised appropriately, including updates on the website.
• Build and maintain a comprehensive database of regular patrons, fostering strong relationships with repeat guests.
• Assist with general reception duties, including managing the cloakroom and cashiering tasks as needed.

Other Responsibilities:
• Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality to ensure seamless operations.
• Work on a rotational shift pattern, with flexibility for additional shifts as required by management.
• Contribute to team efforts by performing other duties as assigned by the manager.

Health and Safety:
• Report potential hazards promptly and assist in rectifying them.
• Stay fully conversant with all fire, emergency, and bomb procedures, ensuring preparedness for any situation.
• Uphold hotel regulations and adhere to health and safety policies to protect guests and employees.
• Promote a safe working environment by following best practices and encouraging others to do the same.

General Duties:
• Be knowledgeable about hotel fire procedures, security protocols, and health and safety policies.
• Familiarize yourself with hotel facilities, attractions, and standards of operation.
• Support the Ambassador’s program and represent the company with professionalism.
• Stay informed about payment methods and marketing promotions to assist guests effectively.
