Role Overview
As a Food and Beverage Supervisor, you will oversee daily operations in our award-winning restaurant and bar, ensuring exceptional food and beverage service. Your primary responsibility is to deliver outstanding dining experiences to guests by managing and coordinating the restaurant team, maintaining high standards, and resolving customer concerns with professionalism and care.
This is a hands-on role that requires active involvement in floor service, interaction with guests, and fostering a positive customer experience to encourage repeat business.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
• Assist the Food and Beverage & Restaurant Manager in daily restaurant and bar operations.
• Oversee the setup, maintenance, and cleaning of work areas according to standards.
• Supervise and coordinate food and beverage service, ensuring consistent quality and timely delivery.
• Monitor the kitchen’s food quality and consistency to maintain the restaurant’s high standards.
• Ensure all departmental policies, procedures, and checklists are followed and completed.
• Operate POS systems and handle guest payments accurately.
Guest Relations
• Greet and seat guests warmly, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
• Take meal and drink orders, explain menu options, and ensure hygienic practices are observed.
• Handle guest inquiries, requests, and complaints in a friendly, efficient, and professional manner.
• Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow and adherence to service times.
Team Supervision and Training
• Supervise and coordinate food and beverage staff to ensure smooth operations.
• Monitor staff rosters and manage wage costs effectively.
• Assist in training and mentoring team members to maintain high service standards.
• Foster a team environment that emphasizes quality, efficiency, and customer focus.
Event Support
• Assist in setting up, servicing, and packing down for events and functions as required.
• Arrange and rearrange indoor and outdoor furniture for events to meet customer needs.
Financial and Operational Reporting
• Ensure revenue for each shift is accurately accounted for and assist with daily balancing activities.
• Contribute to improving departmental standards and maintaining cost controls.

Required Skills and Experience
• Proven hospitality experience in a similar supervisory role, ideally in a fine dining or reputable restaurant environment (not fast food or casual cafes).
• Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with a diverse range of guests.
• High levels of organization and the ability to work both independently and within a team.
• Exceptional grooming and presentation standards.
• Physical stamina to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygienic practices.

Additional Qualifications (Preferred)
• Hospitality qualifications or certifications.
• Previous barista experience.
• NSW Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification (or equivalent).
