Job Title: Enrolled Nurse
Location: Kampala, Uganda

Job Summary
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Nurse to deliver a comprehensive nursing package that includes preventive, curative, and public health education services. The Nurse will ensure quality care by adhering to medical prescriptions, protocols, and universal hygiene standards, contributing to the health and well-being of patients in our community.

Key Responsibilities
As a Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care, including:
• Patient Care:
o Provide nursing services in consultation with the Clinical Officer, including observation, diagnosis, and treatment.
o Offer personalized care by addressing patient complaints, educating patients and families, and escalating cases when needed.
o Ensure patients are comfortable, safe, and in a supportive environment that promotes recovery.
• Emergency and Outpatient Support:
o Perform triage, prioritize emergency cases, administer first aid, and refer critical patients to doctors as needed.
o Dispense medications accurately, ensuring patients understand how to use them.
• Community Health Initiatives:
o Participate in public health campaigns, maternal and child health (MCH) activities, family planning, and HIV/AIDS services.
• Operational Support:
o Monitor drug and equipment usage, maintaining stock and reporting replenishment needs.
o Ensure biomedical equipment is functional and alert the supervisor to any issues.
o Maintain hygiene and sterilization protocols at all times.
• Record-Keeping and Reporting:
o Accurately collect and submit data and reports on schedule.
• Ethics and Professional Conduct:
o Uphold the highest standards of integrity and ethics, adhering to professional and organizational codes of conduct.
Other duties may be assigned based on operational needs.

Qualifications
• Certificate in Comprehensive Nursing from an accredited institution.
• Registration with the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council.
• Valid practicing license.
• Minimum of 6 months of nursing experience (experience with international NGOs is an advantage).

Key Competencies
Knowledge:
o In-depth understanding of nursing principles, procedures, and infection prevention protocols.
o Familiarity with medical and non-medical waste disposal practices.
• Skills:
o Proficiency in patient evaluation and care.
o Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
o Excellent command of written and spoken English.
• Abilities:
o Maintain patient confidentiality and demonstrate professional integrity.
o Provide compassionate, patient-centered care.
o Work flexibly under stress and adapt to diverse environments.
