The Data Innovation Analyst is a key position in organizations that prioritize evidence-based decision-making and continuous program improvement. In this role, the Data Innovation Analyst is responsible for designing and implementing data systems that track key performance indicators and outputs. The position requires collaboration with program teams, stakeholders, and partners to ensure that monitoring and evaluation frameworks align with strategic goals and reporting requirements.

Primary duties include gathering quantitative and qualitative data, conducting field assessments, and developing surveys and tools that accurately reflect program outcomes. The Data Innovation Analyst also analyzes data to uncover trends, generate insights, and produce comprehensive reports that guide decision-making processes. Visualization tools, dashboards, and presentations are often used to communicate findings effectively.

A successful Data Innovation Analyst is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of transforming complex data into actionable knowledge. Familiarity with tools such as Excel, SPSS, R, Stata, Power BI, or Tableau is essential. Additionally, strong communication skills are required to translate data into understandable and relevant findings for non-technical audiences.

Key responsibilities of a Data Innovation Analyst may include:
– Developing and maintaining monitoring and evaluation plans and logical frameworks
– Leading baseline, midline, and endline assessments
– Creating data collection methodologies and tools
– Ensuring data quality and integrity through regular audits and reviews
– Training program staff and field enumerators on M&E procedures and tools
– Collaborating with funders and partners to meet reporting requirements
– Preparing reports, dashboards, and presentations for internal and external audiences

Most roles require a degree in a relevant field such as statistics, public policy, economics, social sciences, or public health. Experience in program evaluation, research design, and statistical analysis is often essential. Certifications in M&E or data analysis tools can enhance employability.
