RECRUITMENT

Applications are invited from suitable qualified citizens to join the Uganda Police Force

POST: PROBATIONER POLICE CONSTABLE (Drivers)
REF: HRM/138/160/01/VOL. 6/25
POSITIONS: 434 VACANCIES
SALARY SCALE: UG SCALE – U7


KEY OUTPUTS

a) Vehicle maintenance
b) Safely transport personnel and supplies
c) Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor
d) Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor


REQUIREMENTS

  1. Must be a Ugandan citizen with a valid National ID (NIN).
  2. Must have no criminal record.
  3. Must possess a UCE certificate or its equivalent.
  4. Should be ready to undertake the requisite twelve (12) months Police basic Training.
  5. Must be physically and medically fit.
  6. Ready to work for long hours and at times under difficult conditions.
  7. Should be ready to work in any part of the country.
  8. Possess good communication skills.
  9. Must not be a former or serving officer in any of the Forces.
  10. Suitable candidates for the above position must possess a valid driving permit with at least 3 years driving experience for that particular class as indicated in the table below.

HOW TO APPLY

Hand written applications addressed to the IGP accompanied by:

  • A photocopy of the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE)
  • Photocopy of the National ID
  • Three (3) recent passport size photographs
  • Valid driving permit
  • Recommendation letters from LCI, LCIII and RDC (from the respective districts of residence)

All should be in a file folder and delivered to the Police District/Divisional Headquarters not later than 4 July 2025.

Only shortlisted candidates shall be invited for interviews on dates to be communicated.


NOTE

  • Impersonation and presentation of any forged testimonials or any other forged documents shall lead to arrest and prosecution in courts of law.
  • Appointment into the Uganda Police Force is after completion of the Police Initial Training.
