Role Overview
The IT Technician will play a key role in managing and optimizing the hotel’s IT infrastructure, security systems, and technical support operations. This full-time position is based in Entebbe, reporting directly to the Managing Director.
The ideal candidate is proactive, analytical, and solution-driven, with a strong ability to troubleshoot technical issues, ensure cybersecurity, and enhance IT efficiency within the organization.
📌 Reporting To: Managing Director
📌 Work Hours: 8 per day
Key Responsibilities
✔️ System Administration: Oversee the installation, maintenance, and security of all IT systems.
✔️ Backup & Data Security: Ensure data protection, cloud backups, and disaster recovery planning.
✔️ Technical Support: Provide prompt user support to staff for hardware, software, and networking issues.
✔️ Project Coordination: Review IT project plans, coordinate implementation, and optimize workflows.
✔️ Cybersecurity: Implement and manage firewalls, antivirus software, and network security measures.
✔️ Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with suppliers, department heads, and technicians to assess system requirements.
✔️ IT Upgrades & Improvements: Evaluate and recommend hardware/software upgrades for better efficiency.
Required Qualifications & Skills
🎓 Education: Diploma or Degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
📅 Experience: 3-5 years in an IT support/administration role.
🖥 Technical Proficiency: Microsoft Office Suite, ERP software, cloud-based systems, data backup tools, network management.
🔍 Key Skills: Critical Thinking, Problem-Solving, Decision-Making, Time Management, Operations Analysis.
📢 Communication: Fluent in English.
Preferred Qualifications
✅ Experience in IT systems analysis and evaluation.
✅ Knowledge of personnel management and training for IT users.
✅ Strong coordination and project management skills.
✅ Ability to identify and implement technology improvements to enhance efficiency.
