Job Summary

Posta Uganda is hiring two IT Support professionals to manage and support its IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, communications, and training. The IT Support team will ensure the smooth operation of UPL’s information systems and deliver timely technical support to staff at the head office, DPOs, and SPOs in line with IT guidelines and policies.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide desktop support to UPL staff, including user support for network, desktop, software, telephone, email, file management, data recovery, and remote access.
  • Install, configure, and administer software and hardware at the end-user point, following UPL’s IT policies and best practices.
  • Monitor servers (logs, disk space, etc.) and resolve issues as needed.
  • Promote a culture of service excellence within the IT department, focusing on continual improvement.
  • Expedite the repair of hardware faults and software configuration problems, coordinating with suppliers as necessary.
  • Assist in investigating, evaluating, and interpreting data to support Posta Uganda staff.
  • Ensure data coherence, availability, accuracy, and security to meet UPL’s information system needs.
  • Design and implement LAN/WAN infrastructure according to international standards.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

  • Honours Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, or Information Systems.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience, with at least 3 years in a similar IT support role within a reputable organization.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent time management and flexibility skills.
