Job Summary
The Driver/Messenger will be responsible for providing transport services to IRB senior management, staff, and relevant stakeholders. The role includes vehicle maintenance, delivering correspondences, and preparing periodic reports as per departmental guidelines.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Transport Services: Provide transport to IRB staff and stakeholders, ensuring adherence to company guidelines.
- Correspondence Delivery: Deliver outgoing correspondences in line with departmental protocols.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Implement and follow maintenance schedules for the vehicle as per the manufacturer’s and departmental guidelines.
- Vehicle Cleaning: Arrange regular car wash services to maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle.
- Reporting: Prepare periodic and progressive reports related to vehicle use and maintenance.
- Logbook Management: Maintain accurate motor vehicle logbooks, including daily mileage and related records.
- Other Duties: Perform any additional tasks assigned by the supervisor or management.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Education: Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE).
- Valid Driving License: Must hold a valid driving permit.
- Vehicle Maintenance Certificate: A certificate in vehicle maintenance is an added advantage.
- Experience: At least five years of relevant experience working in a reputable organization.
- Age: Should be below 45 years of age.
- Language Skills: Fluent in English.
- Temperament: Must be respectful and maintain a pleasant demeanor.
