Job Overview
Wamutu Robert Internal SMC Limited, a fully registered international firm specializing in agribusiness and general engineering, is seeking a Veterinary Officer to join our team in Kampala. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and treating animal illnesses, conducting field investigations, and providing expert guidance on animal health management.
Key Responsibilities
- Animal Health Management: Diagnose and treat injuries and illnesses in animals using medical tools, diagnostic equipment, and surgical procedures when necessary.
- Disease Control & Prevention: Supervise activities aimed at detecting, controlling, preventing, and eradicating animal diseases, including poultry-related conditions.
- Field Investigations: Conduct research on significant animal disease problems and provide expert consultation to livestock producers, veterinary practitioners, animal scientists, and nutritionists.
- Performance Monitoring: Track animal health and productivity, offering regular feedback and technical expertise to stakeholders.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to veterinary health regulations and best practices in animal health management.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Medicine.
- Certification: Must be registered with the Uganda Veterinary Board.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in veterinary practice and animal health management.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of animal disease prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.
- Proficiency in using veterinary medical tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Work Hours: 8-hour shifts.
